This game is very similar to other melon rind number games- like the clumsy thief. You can play by taking turns or all at once. The goal is to play your cards onto the center pile by laying a card that is either 4 more or 4 less. It’s a great way to build familiarity with your multiples of 4- either for skip counting, addition, and especially for multiplication. The cards are well printed on standard card playing cardstock. There is a level of strategy to this game, similar to uno, but it’s not ALL strategy. Melon rind games are great for building math skills, especially in how numbers relate to one another. The only bummer to me is that this only goes up to 40, instead of 48. As you generally need to memorize time tables until at least 12 (if not 15) this makes it fall just a smidge short for that purpose. But the game is so fun and we’ll designed, and once you have the 1st 10 multiples of a number you can just learn tricks to determine all the others. This is definitely worth having and I’m glad it’s in my homeschool collection.
